When Skies Are Azure Blue Poem by Joyce Hemsley

When Skies Are Azure Blue

Excuse me please; beg your pardon,
playing in a dragon's garden
at a dark and dismal rendezvous
is not a joyous thing to do...
But playing in a dahlia garden
close beside my own sweet darling
with skies a gorgeous azure blue
would delight me through and through.

To walk where pretty rock plants bloom
on a sun-drenched day in June
would make a little dragon garden
appear much less than charming.
So, hand in hand in summertime
we'll admire the dahlias divine.
Enjoying the wonder of floral hue
is surely a joyous thing to do.
