When Someone Wishes To Harm You Poem by Francis Duggan

When Someone Wishes To Harm You

If someone only wishes for you the grave
From their wrath the law will not come you to save
And if they so wish they can do you worse harm
Than breaking your fingers or breaking your arm.

The law will not protect you from violent crime
And asking them for protection seems a waste of time
For if someone wishes to hurt you they certainly can
That is if for you evil intent they do plan.

Those who wish to harm you the law do not respect
And they do not care how their actions on them will reflect
And though in most people some good you will find
Much darkness envelopes the criminal mind.

When someone wishes to harm you there's nothing you can do
The police will not be near for to protect you
Your safety the law it does not guarantee
You must fight fire with fire that's how it seems to me.
