When The River Breaks (A Metaphorical Verse) - Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr (FjR)

Standing 'side th' riverbreak,
water streaks like lightening,
flowing fast, white and narrow,
'neath th' branches subluxed bark.

An' these waters curve o' crooked,
twisting, strained, and serpentine
'til they merge...become a river,
a river rising fast an' hard,
'gainst th' fork that parts th' surge.

An', there be magic, at th' riverbreak;
its' spread dictates her flow,
white-capped ripple, see-saw current
where th' narrows come together.

Stimulating force is th' riverbreak;
no virgin surf this be;
must be th' sight of the rapids front
that compels th' surfeit rush.

Ahhhh, th' rush of th' riverbreak,
like th' passion of woman,
an' her feminine majesty,
coursing warm..., warmer -warmer yet
by th' rise of what makes her pour;
an' its' entry ne're denied
penetrating th' open spread,
like two eagle wings in thrust,
permeation, smooth an' fertile,
by th' fork, that makes th' riverbreak,
as nature waits its climax.

An', th' climax be majestic -
an unequivocal liquid rush;
then a sudden silence
of quelling waters...
for but a very short moment,
an' th' waters resume their course,
refreshed an' quiet, th' riverbreak-
'til th' waters become aroused again.
