When Time Takes Its Toll Poem by Gert Strydom

When Time Takes Its Toll

When time takes its toll
and age set in,
I will still see you
in the way that you were
when youth was yours.

Even when we stand
at the edge of the last evening
the fire of love in your golden eyes
will still bring everlasting feelings,
to take beyond
were this life goes.
