When You Asked My Love Poem by Alexander Foald

When You Asked My Love

When you asked my love
Did you know what it means?
That one night might be less lonesome
And one blanket wouldn’t be enough for two

When you asked my love
Did you know what comes of it?
That someday I could take you away
From the sorrow you’ve been digging in

When you asked my love
Did you see where it goes to?
That our fate could have been certain
And no one can prove it upside down

When you asked my love
Did you think what I’m thinking?
That this could be what it meant to be
And I love you so much for all I care!
