Whenever I Am Troubled Poem by Kathy Hunter

Whenever I Am Troubled

Rating: 5.0

Whenever I am troubled and lost in deep despair

I bundle all my troubles and go to God in prayer.

I tell Him I am heartsick, and lost and lonely too.

That my mind is deeply burdened and I don't know what to do.

But I know He stilled the tempest and calmed the angry sea,
And I humbly ask if in his love He will do the same for me.

Then I just keep quiet and think only thoughts of peace,
And if I abide in stillness, my restless murmuring cease.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was found amongst my mother-in-laws things and I love it so much that I wanted to share it. I will not submit that this is original work of hers but it is over one hundred years since it was written.

This poem was written by Harriet Steiner Rice. I received it in a sympathy card over 50 years ago. It touched me so much that I put it to memory

It is a beautiful poem, dear, but I do not think you are allowed to post it here if it is not your own work.
