Where Are We Headed Poem by Katherine Perry

Where Are We Headed

Rating: 4.8

What use to be so simple
Makes today seem so complex
The human heart more frustrated and less gentle
In a fast paced world, so what could be next

We now enjoy less of the world that God created
Instead we feel more secure with tiny screens in our hands
Without it we're lost with nothing to compare and know
nothing related
Left alone with only the things created by man

So busy and caught up in chatting on line
There's now less enjoyment in meeting people face to face
Pretending to be whom ever we want, and losing all track
of time
Thinking and believing anything else would be a waste

What would we do in a time of disaster
Where we had to choose what to take and what to leave
behind
For the material things i think our hands would be moving
much faster
Fixed in a panic, not realizing those are the things that can
be replaced in time

But now a days we think more in the moment
Putting unnecessary importance into man-made things
that aren't free
Family's aren't like what they use to be, back when kids
knew what 'no' meant
Back when it was normal to play outside and not unusual
to be climbing trees

I think most know where we are headed
But we're kept too busy to even care
Trying not to think about the time to come, that's dreaded
The time when all mankind will be judged, with no more
moments left to spare!
