Where Got Meaning? Poem by Long Tooth

Are there mornings you wake when your path isn't clear,
When the voices you care about buzz in your ear,
When the looks on coworkers' mugs fill you with fear,
When more distance seems truly much better than near,
When life's storms are survived but no rainbows appear,
Are you tempted to ask, 'Where got meaning? ! '

When you find keys you've lost are just where they should be,
When the birds that are singing all boycott your tree,
When new lottery winner got his ticket free,
When the girl you're in love with hates your poetry,
When sweet dream coming true scares your inner baby,
Are you wondering then, 'Where got meaning? ! '

Well my guess is life's meaning is born in your smile,
Can't be kidnapped by Arabs that sail on the Nile,
Or 'friends' secretly hoping that you'll go senile.
When you make do with resources there all the while,
When you find path to joy even on desert isle,
No mistaking it now, 'You're the meaning! '
