Where I Am Poem by Kelsey Marvel

Where I Am

Someone help me
I'm falling into the covetous hands of addiction
The greedy hands take and take until there is nothing.
Nothing sends me staggering into the darkness
Only to find a single light.
The light is hope.
The hope for my future.
My future is today.
Today is the beginning.
The beginning of the end of my addiction
I followed the light to a place of understanding.
The light led me to the soft tender hands of recovery.
The hands welcome me and with my feet firm on the ground,
This is where I will stay.
Forever.
