Where My Mother Lies Poem by Charles Darnell

Where My Mother Lies

I fly past the little boneyard
On the side of the divided highway
Where my mother was buried
Long ago.

I make a quick sign of the cross
For her sake, not mine.

She understands.
No time to stop,

Just like last time.
