Whisper (Run For Your Life) Poem by Casey Renee Kiser / snail viXen

Whisper (Run For Your Life)

Rating: 3.8

Whisper in my ear.
They are policing our eye contact.
Turn off the lights
so they can't read your lips.
I can swallow shock
even when I'm watching myself
on the operating table.
Rub your bloody wrists together
and cover you ears with them, babe.
It will be just like you never said it at all
because you won't hear yourself say it.
Deliver the secret right to my nerve endings.
Tell the truth like you never have before.
Remember, it's just me.
Tell the truth darling
but whisper,
then run for your life.
