White Clydesdale Horse Poem by Jim O'Donnell

White Clydesdale Horse

That big white horse he stands so high
And coat so white it hurts my eyes
A Clydesdale horse is the breed
Stand so proud does this stead

For weeks I just wondered why
He shows himself in my minds eye
I tell my friends what I see
It’s my granddad looking after me

A carter by trade was his game
And Clydesdale horses pulled the frame
For miles and miles through Scottish Land
My granddad went cap in hand

It nice to know he stands by me
As proud as the horse I can see
To give me strength both night and day
And guide me along the way
