Rising to the sky
Falling to the ground
Like a stone
Launched up
Rising as dream
Skyward
Falling as reality
To the ground.
After exhibiting
A moment of glory
Showing heat
And smoke
Like cinder block
Of coal
In the end turning
Into ashes
And falling
To the ground.
Moving with agility
Like new leaves
Of a tree
Now turned yellow
And falling
To the ground.
Filled with sweetness
Of nectar
And attraction
Like a flower
Now faded and falling
To ground.
Like fallen rock
Down deep into
Crevices
Of cracked will
And the ravines and valleys
Of lost hope
Rolling
Rolling
And rolling
Down.
Like the ashes
Like the golden leaf
And the faded flower
Blown by
The swirling wind
Of time
Traveling into
Deep space
Of despair
Up and up.
Where to?
In what direction?
To what corner?
Like darkness that
Spreads into emptiness
Like hunger
That bothers
In acute famine
Whither?
And why?
People suddenly falling from great heights, blazing fire turning into cinders, Green fluttering leaves soon turning yellow and withering.... all these we watch helplessly! There is no relevance for our 'whys' here, in our journey through the rocky terrains! ! Great metaphors! !
Lovely metaphores used hear about the meaning of life, a good write.
though the flavor and the basic idea of this poem is not unique and sparingly applied by other poets here, I still enjoyed reading it, Prof. well done..
