Who Painted The Sky? Poem by Juan Olivarez

Who Painted The Sky?

Who painted the sky so blue,
And the red and purple sunsets too?
Who painted the white clouds,
Up in that blue sky?
And who blows on their tails,
As they swiftly fly by.

Who painted the leaves so green,
On the largest trees you've ever seen?
And the warm sweet rain,
That makes them grow,
And who made the south wind,
That through them blows.

Who painted the peacock colored sea?
I know it wasn't you and me.
And the waves that crash upon the shore,
And the foaming caps,
That rush ashore,
From the peacock sea forever more.
