Who Says 'love Lasts Forever'

Rating: 4.7

Who said, 'love lasts forever'
forever was a fool,
for love did me in,
love killed me good!

A fool to have loved,
right up til the end.
A fool to have believed,
everything she said.

I remember that summer
the rough sea and the wind,
as she lay on the beach,
a curved figure in the sand

the bed that we loved in,
the room upstairs,
where I slept in her arms
and she held me there.

But time worked it's way
when we were apart.
She found a new lover,
I was too far.

How would I know
it would end this way.
How could I know,
when she said that she loved me

They say, 'love lasts forever'
and if ever I was a fool,
to have given her my love
only to lose her.

only to lose her..

Thanks for sharing. I find love lasts forever...it's just ever changing, today it feels the world to you, a few weeks from now a little less and sometimes the reverse..if that makes sense my friend :)
