Who Would Jesus Bomb? Poem by Chuy Amante

Today
I sat pondering a map of the East
I asked myself who is the least?

Who are the bad guys who are good?
Who is from the 'right' neighborhood?

So many 'bad' that must be destroyed
Who plays God with human toys?

I decide to be
myself rescindin'
turn it over to one
with much more wisdom

I went big and I asked HIM
Who would You bomb, the men with sin?

I pondered well what HE might tell
send them all to heaven or all to hell?

Then in my mind
crept a passage from childhood
Sounded great,
to my mind it felt good

I can't quote just what he said
but something of this tone:
'Let him without sin
let him throw the first stone'

So I ask you warmongerers
who bear a sacred cross
What did the Nazarite Essene
say about the first stone toss?

What do you think,
are you with me cross?

Will you obey the Rebel, the Rabbi,
The wisest, the big Boss?
