Why Did The Cars Stop Poem by Cheryl Branson

Why Did The Cars Stop

Why did the cars stop
On that cold, dark day
Why'd they take you & not me
To the farest kind of away
My eyesight was kinda blurry
As I stand near that busy street
And I still don't understand
Why the cars didn't take me
Why did you have to go
When I wanted life to end
Why did the cars stop for me
And not my best friend
The traffic light turns green
I ignore the don't walk sign
That busy street took your life
And now it shall take mine
I see many cars coming
But it's too late to take this back
I'm trying not to close my eyes
So things are unable to go black
So now I'm laying in my own blood
As I start to cry
Then I hear the paramedic say
This girl is going to die.
