Why Do You Call? Poem by Alexis Weiermann

Why Do You Call?

Why do you continue to call,
When I don't answer?
Please know I mean no harm,
I just can't stand talking to you.
You only bring hurt and regret.
I don't know if I can handle you,
You call everyday,
You never forget.
And that's the problem,
Your calling to hurt me some more.
You know you can pull me back to you,
With your sweet talking,
Sweet kisses,
Nicest apologies.
That is why I no longer answer.
I know that if I pick up,
You'll pull me back in.
You'll hurt me,
You'll do anything and everything,
But only to hurt me.
Stop calling.
I wont answer,
Not now,
Not then,
Not ever.
Why do you continue to call,
When I don't answer?
