Why Do You Do This? Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Why Do You Do This?

Why Do You Do This?

Why do you think this is happening?
The world is at a loss.
You are so steeped in poverty,
And they want to be the boss.

Why does this situation work out,
Over and over again,
Throughout humanity's history,
Throughout it's unstable reign.

I thought and thought,
My head off.
Then I realized it made no sense.
This was not up to me to solve.

Humanity pays,
While God saves,
Yet we don't listen.
To him but pay the price.
