Why Should I Care Poem by Charles Strickland

Why should I care,
That there is hatred everywhere?
It is only on TV,
It will never get to me.
Why should I care,
That there is violence over there?
It does not affect me,
Is the attitude you see.
But when it hits close to home,
We know we are not alone.
And when it cuts down a child,
We really go wild.
It is time to take a stand,
And help our fellow man.
No matter where he be,
He is part of our family.
