Why Should I Please Poem by Kavitha Rai

Why Should I Please

Rating: 3.5

Why should I please
This and that person
Why should I make everyone agree
The teasing and the mockery
And a coward’s life
Is frightened of the life

Why this unsteadiness, here and there
People saying yes, let them repeat
Individuals saying no, let them measure
Tear only becoming haughty
Going on the right path, reach for the stars

After getting this life
The struggle for existence begins
Without even measuring physical strength
Keep a firm foot on your desired goal
When the blows, wounds and stretches
Of failure mind, victory is ours

Why should I please
This and that person
Why should I make everyone agree.

'Going on the right path, reach for the stars' is perhaps the strongest line from a rich poem and a woman's questioning. Thanks for this thoughtful poem.
