Why The Tears? Poem by Monty Mathur

Tears in the car,
Tears in the shower.
Tears while praying,
Tears while driving…..
Past the coffee shop,
Past the park bench,
Down the freeway,
Into the sunset.
Walking out in the rain,
Soaking in the bright sunshine.
Can anyone tell me what these tears are for?
Why does the throat choke up this way?
Everytime I think of someone so far away.
Is it knowing I may never feel the same love again?
Because it is time to let go…..
….of something I never had to begin with.
