Wild Flower

Wild Flower

I am a wild flower
Lack of warmth and care
Lost in an open field
Where love was not built

I need a dropp of water
So that my heart would be better
I need the warmth of sunlight
That gives brightness to my sight

I need a fertilizer
That I thought is as precious as gold or silver
And gives my life its progress
But I have no right to have this for I am useless

I am always cut and neglected
I am not that dainty, they said
But this wild flower that was being thrown,
Is the ONLY flower who can live on its own.

poet Robert Browning

After
by Robert Browning

Take the cloak from his face, and at first
Let the corpse do its worst!

How he lies in his rights of a man!
Death has done all death can.
