Wild Wolf Poem by G J Salgado

Wild Wolf

She saw what their eyes could see
She felt their souls and where they've been
Through the dark she found the place where she felt free
She promised to never leave again

There she was wild
Her thoughts weren't empty
She looked at the moon and smiled
For it saw something inside her the other's couldn't see

She loved the way the candles lit her face
By the warmth of the summer morning sun
Saving her deeply in all of its grace
They all knew she was the only one

On the edge of the autumn air
There was always someone that watched
He wouldn't speak only sit and stare
Along with the ticking of the clock

In his eyes each day
He was anxious to see her there
He knew it would always be the same
Suddenly it became too much for him to bare

Not knowing her name
Or the sound of her voice
Days went by as she drove him insane
It was never by his own choice

She was the forbidden fruit
All he wanted was just a taste
Just enough of her skin between his single tooth
Not a drop of her blood would go to waste

He thought about it over and over
Inside his mind constantly lingering within
Every single thought was about her
He could no longer pretend

His soul was vanishing quickly
A soul for a soul in a lover's eyes
What was it about her that consumed him completely
Every thing about her seemed to mesmerize

He could see her in the sky and everywhere
Sweet scent of roses in the wind
And the way she wore stars in her hair
Brought him closer into her spell all over again

He held her as if he knew how to love her
Yet he knew in his heart that she couldn't be tamed
She left him lonely but wanting more
Just her voice, a kiss; or at least just knowing her name
