Will I Forget You? Poem by Heather Burns

Will I Forget You?

Rating: 3.5

When the sun
refuses to
rise in the
east
no longer
sets in the
west.

When tomorrow
never dawns
the night
remains,
darkness is
permanent.

Our music stops
playing
not a sound is
heard,
the world lies
in silence.

I can no longer
depend on my
muse
to guide heart
and hand,
pen and paper
lie in silence
beside me,
not a word
forth comming.

As my eyes close
for the last time
I breathe my final
breathe
Will I forget you?

No,
not even then
I will always
remember.

Oh that I might someday have this kind of love as my own...so beautiful in the simple sweetness that I find in your words. Added this to list of my favorite poems...I will share it with others...PEACE
