Windowsill. Poem by Karlo Avenido

Windowsill.

Under the moonlight
you pass by
gazing emptily
upon the entities
of the unfaltering stars.

Over the soft, moist
cold summer soil
I gaze on you
with such ardor
that the stars
shout with jealousy.

I peer over you
on the windowsill
of my home
as I dream
your existence
in my arms.

Slowly
your presence
dwindles.
You are
one
with the stars
that rarely fall.
