Wings Poem by Natalia Bakina

Wings

The bare empty sky has swallowed
The contours of the outside -
The world is left all warped and hollowed,
Glaring twisted in a fright.

Contaminated with dismay,
You search the truth that can’t be found;
Each moment beats your life away –
Your weakened will is leaking out.

To test your mind the phantoms meet -
They dig infected holes there;
They plant treacherous toxic seeds
To grow the images you share.

Captured by your impending choice,
You make your inner revelation;
You hear your heart when lose your voice;
You get refined by mutilation.

Your shelter is the pouring rain;
You feel your breath in suffocating;
Your freedom is standing the strain;
Your darkness is illuminating.

You take your rest when you’re alert;
You see the beauty in decaying;
Your cuts and burns cause no hurt;
Your agony is in your praying.

Your vision’s cleared by distortion;
You find the progress in stagnation;
Your dreams – the scale of your proportion;
Your love is your imagination.

The wings have burst, unearthly white,
Dazzling up-sky and spreading beauty,
Blowing the day, casting the light
Upon your all fulfilling future...
