Wings Of Greatness Poem by Carlos Rodriguez

Wings Of Greatness

Rating: 5.0

From the cracks I pulled myself out
The air was not like any I have breathed
Lost in the beauty of excellence
The gasping reality that shadows me
Was faintly familiar but quickly
Fading into oblivion.

My heart has never been free of strings
Challenged to survive the ways of those before me
Free only in a dictionary full of words
That hold no meaning.

As I stand in the palms of humanity
Beams of light from an inner shadow
That I have never touched upon
Breaking all boundaries so that
I can fly among greatness
Across an indigo sky.

Three tears fell before me, reflecting
What will shadow me and light my path
Along this treacherous road filled with thorns
And salty tears: Love, peace and humanity
For all.
