Winter Poem by Charles Allan Floyd

Winter

fading, bleeding,
leaves fade and bleed as fall approaches.
the leaves are dying.
soon all white,
a sea of white,
a blanket of white,
little footsteps drown as the snow continues.
chimneys smoking
houses seem to shiver as cold nights grow deeper
god i love it so...
for my soul is winter
my blood runs cold
though i was born in midst in summer
my heart longs for winter.
