Winter Poem by Leroy Numa

Winter

Now the Days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer and all you want to do is slumber.
You know that summer has now gone by but no my friend you need not cry
Winter is here and with it comes cold darkness and Love my dear
Walking out your door trying not to slip and fall you do not like this weather no not at all
Ignoring your calls the phone you do not want to hold because your hands are far to cold
Being outside is what you hate
But to sit at the warm fireplace you just can't wait
The fire spreads peace and joy
And You suddenly feel like a kid again playing with your favourite toy

Christmas is near and you are feeling the spirit
Ready to have a grudge at anyone who would try to kill it

Cookies are baking incense is burning
The smell is so strong my stomach is turning

Soon winter draws to an end just when it has become your best friend.
