Winter Blue Poem by Phil Soar

Winter Blue

Rating: 5.0

After the rain we wish for blue not grey
In winter
Our hearts and minds may hurt because it makes us sad
That sky we wish for is gone
So many hours lost in sadness
We wish for the crisp blue air of a winters morning
That air that pierces our very soul
Yet feels refreshing
Though cold and frozen
It makes our lips blue
Which incidentally matches the surrounding hue
And all that appears is grey
For days on end
Without any warm feeling to intercept the gloom
But when that Blue sky appears
We smile
Happy days in winter

When the winter is harsh things may look bleak and gloomy. But in the part of the world where I live, (i.e. in Karnataka, India) the winter is very much enjoyable with clear blue skies and blooming plants and blossoming trees. Nicely penned.
