Winter Cloak Poem by Lisa John

Winter Cloak

Rating: 5.0

I cling to any warmness
I cling to any hope
As I hve to constantly carry around
This cold-heavy winter cloak

It's I only that wears it
So no one else see's
The cold-heavy cloud above me
No one hears my desperate plea's

This cloak is like a part of me
Can never be removed
I don't have the strength to take it off
So it stays on me, unmoved

This winter cloaks's so cold so not me
It's an extra emotion, you cannot see
It doubles the pain, doubles the loneliness
Doubles the despair. But the happiness gets less and less

I cling to any warmness
I cling to any hope
As I'm covered, suffocated, be happier dead
In this cold heavy winter cloak
