Winter's Delight Poem by Michael Peterson

Winter's Delight

The cloud floating in slowly
The temperature is dropping fast
The wind picking up
A cold winter night is falling upon us
The flurries of light snow falling gently down
Each little flake different from the other
Making a beautiful white blanket across the green grass
A heavy storm moving the snow in deeply
A few inches in a matter of hours
The heavy snow looking so lovely in the street lights
Decorating the tree so gorgeously
Mother nature painting such a picturesque site
Morning comes from the sound of plows
Snow blowers and shovels push the snow off the walks
Children screaming at the TV of no School
Time to play and be lazy
Snow forts a building, wars to fight
Snowballs a flying, laughter follows
Snowmen arepopping up everywhere
Winter has come in strong
Some enjoy, others dread
One thing for sure is hot cocoa awaits
To warm our bodies and souls
A winter delight to cherish one and all
