Winter Story Poem by Marilyn Lott

Winter Story

Rating: 3.0

The sun was coming up
There was not a single sound
I saw long daggered-icicles
Pointing to the ground

Hanging from the fence
They seemed to blend right in
It’s that time of the year though
Nature’s yearly trend

Yes, everything was frozen
For many miles around
Still and hard and icy
And a deeply frozen ground

Like nature was impassionate
For every tree and beast
Frozen to the bone it was
Heart stopping to say the least

And the sky was kinda murky
Made you wonder what was next
The clouds were a pale gray
Much like a winter fest

But you know, it’s a sight
That has its own glory
I love that time of year
It’s a winter kind of story!
