Wisdom's Choice Poem by Crystal DeFrate

Wisdom's Choice

Rating: 5.0

Confused or conflicted, it matters not
Either way, my path is plot

Patiently I work the fetters that bind,
as I slave my heart to my mind.

Even my brain against wisdom strains
And recounts the positives yet again

My lips recall the dream they dared,
As into action transformed my care.

Folly for sure - that action wrought!
And only lack of freedom bought

Doom forecasted for other males
Who, in my current condition, will fail

But Wisdom, in the end, will win
And convert you, once again, to friend.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I remember fighting against writing down these words, but felt compelled to put them out into the universe. So, I did what any self respecting nerd would do; published it on Facebook and then buried it with a page or two of statuses so no one would read it/find it. Thus, satisfying the compulsion and my desire for anonymity at the time. :)

I know what you mean, sometimes you just have to get it down. A great poem.
