Wishful Thinking Poem by Sandra Feldman

Wishful Thinking

Rating: 5.0

Tell me a poetic story,
I'm so tired of extremes.
Nothing seems to announce new glory,
World keeps splitting at the seams.

Tell me a poetic story,
Full of hollywoodian dreams,
When Romantic films were glory,
And real Love had self esteem,
When the purity of caring,
Seemed to be within our heart,
And we admired Beauty, sharing,
Blessings, of true works of Art.

I'm with you on this topic! I don't watch many contemporary movies, I don't appreciate put -down humor and I don't want to watch people making fools of themselves. There have been some luminous films about people in love. MOONLIGHT with Cher and Nicolas Cage is one, and a more recent one with Gwyneth Paltrow and Joaquin Phoenix. What you aptly call call THE PURITY OF CARING WITHIN THE HEART is evident in both. What we need in films are models of successful relationships to balance the dissection of failed relationships. Both types of films tell the truth and together reveal the whole truth. Why has cynicism, that is, assessing people at the lowest moral level, become so prominent? YES, LET'S HAVE A TRULY ROMANTIC/POETIC STORY!

Another good poem my friend, the purity of caring for chosen words, this poem says so much for the poetic hunger, well done.
