Wishing Well (Revisited) Poem by Not Long Left

Wishing Well (Revisited)

A penny falls
and is swallowed
into the clear water
of fortune.
A wish is whispered
and welcomed.
Under the light of the moon
the silver shimmers.
Innocent hope ripples,
Little waves of watered hills.
My wish was to kiss your lips
and the well
with all its sunken moon
reflecting ships
Paid in kind.
