With A Forgetting About Preferences Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

With A Forgetting About Preferences

I remember once having a preference for dogs.
But now I have a preference for cats.

I remember being attracted to those I fantasized.
But I knew in my mind...
My delusions kept would not realize that.

I remember being in love,
With those I met to fall head over heels.
And I remember being wounded,
With my heart broken too!
None of that stayed with me to appeal.

But if anyone believes I still do what I use to...
Would be quite surprise how I have adapted,
To a life that now attracts only happiness...
With a forgetting about preferences I 'once' had,
Not to dwell upon to be remembered...
About who was good at doing what, where and when.
