With A Princess Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

With A Princess

Rating: 3.5

In the midst of a forest
In a gorgeous palace
Once a lovely Princess
Would live in happiness
With a Prince
Of her heart and mind.

I was travelling alone
On the way of life at noon.
Then I entered the forest
And saw a desolate palace
Full of suspense, fear
And wild beauty.

I heard a creaking sound
Coming out of the palace.
Suddenly a raven flew over
My head with crowing
From the turret of the palace.
I got startled with the sound.

Then I saw rain falling
And heard the Princess
Shouting at me loudly,
'What are you doing here?
Escape at once or you'll feel
What I do every time.'

I came back home
In the afternoon.
Just before twilight
I went up the roof of our house
To watch the beauty
Of the twilight sky.

I saw the Princess looking at me
From the twilight sky.
Then I said to her,
'I have been made
Your dearest Prince.
Feel what I do now dear.'

She felt happy seeing me there.
She came down like a fairy
And sat beside me in the dim light.
Then being a true couple
We two reached a world
Made only for the happy lovers.

We wandered for some time
In quest of beauty and joy
In true Love.
Then darkness came
And evening fell
And I felt my task finished.

Poetry is the expression of imagination. So nicely you have expressed your imagination that it has become an excellent poem full of romance, beauty and love. You are truly a gifted poet as so magically you can express even ordinary thoughts into poetry. Such is the quality of a great poet.
