He can't hear you when you whisper so you tell me your plan
Of spending the whole weekend with another man.
Your first and true intentions were heading on your way
To attend your cousin's wedding taking place on Saturday.
But someone else stepped in the picture and he's always on your mind
And even for a weekend you can't leave him behind.
The wedding is important but you probably won't attend
Instead congratulate her in a card that you will send.
Ninety One long miles you figure what's the use
You'll call and say you're sick that's a good excuse.
While your cousin's getting married you'll fulfill your plan
And spend the whole weekend with another man.
There is just one problem a boyfriend from the past
Who can not get the picture you're over him at last.
He's still busy holding on to something that can't be
While you whisper quietly all your plans to me.
You'll tell your ex you're leaving for the wedding Friday night
Instead you'll stay and party at the bar 'til morning light.
Then after it has closed you'll follow with your plan
And spend the whole weekend with another man.
