With Golden Chances Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

With Golden Chances

Rating: 5.0

How badly you feel when commented on poverty?
On being poorly dressed to remain in sad state of sorry
That parent could ill afford to have good dress
As house itself remained in disorder and in mess

This impression goes long way in child’s mind
He or she tries desperately for answers to find
Teachers are sore at your pathetic show
One thinks of useless things in attempting to grow

I felt no shame in having old parent
The strength and spirit was absolutely present
They provided all that I wanted to progress
I could see and witness shine on their face

“Why not serve motherland first? ”
It had entered in the mind at last
I was to take up lucrative assignment
But at heart there was tremendous movement

Poor parent can’t be left at mercy
That can me biggest mistake by anybody
As boy you might have dreamed to be great man
But after all you are guided by circumstances as human

It is good to be sensitive for the cause
That reminds you constantly because
You have been brought up under hardship
Now what you try to alter is sign of brinkmanship

It is easy to forget all kind of luxury
That may not cause or lead you to worries
One of the best reason may be you are down to earth
That shall remain in your blood till the death

Childhood memory lasts till last day
It has brought you successfully this way
Parents did whatever they could do under the circumstances
Rest all depended on how you tackled it with golden chances
