With These Flowers In Hand

With These Flowers In Hand
And this ring in my pocket
I'm trying to calm down my heart
Before it shoots off like a rocket

With These Flowers In Hand
And a nice little card
I hope you like it
Because picking it was hard

With These Flowers In Hand
I hope all of this helps you smile
And we always have memories
To last us a long long while

With These Flowers In Hand
In my sweaty hands so tight
I hope you like them
And your smile is just as bright

With These Flowers In Hand
And this love I have for you
To keep loving you, I promise
to keep it growing strong and true

With These Flowers In Hand
But let me double check
Make sure I have everything
For I'm a nervous wreck

With These Flowers In Hand
And I'm knocking on your door
Please hurry and answer
Before I pass out on the floor

With These Flowers In Hand
My heart is for your taking
It's not all that cold outside
But I am steadily shaking

With These Flowers In Hand
Will you accept my flowers and ring?
For honey you need to know

poet Alfred Lord Tennyson

It little profits that an idle king,
By this still hearth, among these barren crags,
Match'd with an aged wife, I mete and dole
Unequal laws unto a savage race,
