WITHOUT YOU LORD

Without You Lord there is no gift
No reason to celebrate
But You've shone Your light into darkness
And opened Heaven's gate
Jubilant believers, still
With, deep seated joy
Remember Christ the Saviour
Virgin born baby boy

He who knew no sin
Yet became sin for us
Took God's wrath upon Himself
And went to Calvary's cross
Paying sin's full penalty
The wages of which was death
Became obedient to the Father's will
Gave up His final breath

At the tomb the mourners came
Came with all their grief
Thought for sure that it was over
To live without relief
But angels came to testify
Who at His birth may have sung
He is not here for He is risen
Go tell everyone

So Christmas is a special day
For it celebrates the birth
When Jesus Christ was virgin born
To live upon this earth
Sin can never win the day
Our Victory is secure
For He who rose up from the dead
Is here! He is still here!
