Women Of The Night Poem by Janelle Morehart

Women Of The Night

Women of the Night

As darkness falls
Passion will seethe
Fake love does burn into the souls
Dark Ladies
Women of the Night
Simpering smiles with warm embraces
Promises never kept
Pleasure beyond a man's dream
All for a simple fare
A payment
This love is never free
Such love is never true
Yet it is sought
Again and Again
Never will it end
Lady of the Shadows
Why do you do what you do?
What gives you the drive...
Where is your will...
Have you lost your hope?
Your faith?
Your heart?
Answers falling to the gutter of a dirty street
So many reasons to be told
So many lies are born
Searching for love never received
Forced to live the way they only know
Striving to survive in the world so bitterly cold
Women of the night
Ladies of the darkly lit corners
Bold as brass
But never as see through as glass
Stained with blood
Scarred by what beauty lives in your hollows
Offering what you know best
Giving all that you can
Fake love
False promises
Lady of the Darkness
Women of the Night
What a life...
What a life indeed....
