Women's Cry Poem by Claudia Nkhata

Women's Cry

Like a tot denied of a chance
Chance to bequeath trials wholly
Wholly that man and society tramples on
On inevitable feelings impair
Impair to be put in a place deemed wrong
Wrong that universe turn resilient to feminine whimper
Whimper for scores of names suit
Suit for the children she mothers
Mothers' men make house wives
Wives created to be Adam's companion
Companion blamed for the worlds agony
Agony is in itself phenomenon
Phenomenon that blood craves for a pat
Pat for chastity often ignored
