Women Who Are Diamonds Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Women Who Are Diamonds

In this era of gender equality
Some men of antiquated mind
Still regard with superiority
Women as objects they can find.

Comparing one from the other
As though they're shoddy merchandise
Such a view negates it further-
No ground for talk can materialize.

For a diamond drill has no value
And so to regard a woman as one
Is to relegate her worth as a tool
Just for breaking and the work is done.

A woman of diamond worth there are
From mothers to sisters and grannies,
They shine inner beauty like the stars
Ageless in value, surpassing rubies.
