Won't Take You Back Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Won't Take You Back

How could you want me?
if you let me slip away
you had me in your arms
and just let me slip away

you want me back
it is too late
I've said goodbye
This love has turned into hate

if we could go back in time
before the time we went wrong
fussing, fighting all the regrets
have all came along

broken hearts take time to heal
when you walked out
I wasn't in doubt
to cut the ties

Loving you still hurts
Nobody knows how deep
What's even worst
Is because I show nothing

Nothing that would give a hint
that underneath it all I'm torn
thought I made you happy
Saw you weren't happy

So the decision
was to let you free
and once you be
on your way

You could finally
feel what I could not give you
happiness is a treasure
once you have captured it
you would cherish
forever to come
