Words Poem by Asad Y.R.

Words

It’s so amazing to read
to step into different worlds
and to breathe in an author’s words
and see as he perceives
and conceives
his own reality
written down beautifully
in between sheets
of cut down trees

It’s extraordinary to read
And feel the words as he speaks,
Not just the curvature of their intertwinements
but how the letters are so perfectly conjoined
with their brothers and sisters.

And by God,
the way they sound.
The DNA of music,
before it’s born,
before it even makes a noise,
before the sounds of non-contraceptive instruments are being played with
like toys.

Certain words can touch you
while you’re simultaneously feeling them,
without a sense of hearing them
sometimes only just by reading them,
how beautiful.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was reading one day and imagined beautiful scenery that could not have been projected without the beautiful words of an author and got to thinking: Where would our imaginations be without the words of others, especially those who write? We can't percieve without their words yet our own imaginations are amazing enough to do so without them, yet we rely on the words of books and authors to guide us. I guess that's why we read: to get away from boring old regular life and escape to other worlds via words.

Great poem! Have to agree with your note also. Thank goodness for books! As my fave man Morrissey says, There's more to life than books you know, but not much more!
