Words Of Yester-Years Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

Words Of Yester-Years

You are greater than the world and its trials
Mama said this to me, many years aback
Inspiring me to face my troubles
And make success out of it

Days of shine and that of Gloom
Moments of success and that of doom
All would come into your loom
Weave them together to strengthen yourself

Pretty proverbial words I found them
Not meant for my soft ears and babyish brain
Knowing not, sooner I would face the world
On my own; without aid.

I’ve reached the cross-road un-announced
And I need those phrases un-abated,
Missing the lines is missing the clues
And missing the clues is missing the route
