Worry Away
I unhinged my worry
When I grabbed it by the throat,
We wrestled for a while
While I kept my nerve afloat.
I knew I couldn`t rest
Until I`d had my say,
No way would I keep quiet
Another second of that day.
'You`ve done your best
To drag me down
And bring me close to tears
As you destroyed my confidence
And backed up all my fears,
Now I`m at my lowest ebb
There`s no more work for you to do
As from this moment on
You and I are through'.
I then stood up and walked away
With a smile forced upon my face,
Worry still often chases me
But now I`m the one that sets the pace.

sure believe we all wrestle with worry sometimes..awesome write
how many of us could do something about tomorrow if we worried about it. Seems thats been said, well, it's true.
Wrestle with worries to be the warriors, but this wrestling keeps on going in our life stage after stage.
'Worry still often chases me
But now I`m the one that sets the pace'.
Great thought...
A fantastic poem with a beautiful flow.
We all have to stand and be counted at some
Point in our life. I bet you feel a lot better for
Doing so. A great write.
Bravo! Heather, power to you! Not just a lover but also a great fighter! We are at the point of taking no more abuses either physical or mental! You did the right thing dear Heather and I admire your courage and determination of walking away! Thank you for sharing and keep it up! 10+++ God Bless You! Romeo-NYC
Very good Heather. - I'm a great worrier with little self confidence so I know just where you are coming from here.
